Eco-Friendly Urinals and Some Reminders

I believe I haven't posted these photos here yet. So today, I would like to take this opportunity to share these photos on memes and to my blogger friends and beloved readers who still take time, even though I seldom update this blog as of late, to visit this humble blog of mine. This would be the right time to sprinkle this blog with some shades of nature.

Taken several months ago are these pictures during that sacrifice climb my sisters and I did to the peak of Mt. Linabo. Yes I know, it was quite months long ago...just months ago. And remembering that exhausting yet worth-it climb brings back a lot of fun memories. On our way up, during the first few steps to the concrete stairs, my eyes were filled with few of the refreshing views of nature with entertaining vivid colors here and there. Below are few that caught my eyes.

Eco-friendly Male and Female Urinals. Blue is for the males while the white is for the females.Pretty useful aren't they. There were numbers of these urinals scattered along the sides of the concrete stairs. I bet there were a pair of these in every stations of the cross and then a few up to the peak.  I am not sure all climbers have used this Eco-friendly urinals for urinating anywhere and on the walls is very popular here in the Philippines but one thing was sure, these urinals were useful to us during our climb.

These pretty reminders to all climbers for a safety climb but all these rules did not apply to some climbers though for I saw a few were smoking, littering and playing loud and distracting music on their phone and iPod as we were on our way up and down. Still though, this post with safety reminders made into a beautiful decoration in every station. Drinking liquors sure is one thing that a climber should avoid or she/he will end up having a quick flight down the concrete stairs...head first.

Cheem Almost at the Peak of Mt. Linabo

This is a continuation to my previous post about my sister Cheem's sacrifice climb to Mt. Linabo with our friend Pabz last Holy Thursday, April 5, 2012.
I am so proud of her for she had trekked up the 3003 Steps in Mt. Linabo and climbed another more steps to reach the peak where a satellite tower is situated and is the perfect camping spot. Sadly though they weren't or all the climbers that day weren't allowed to climb up the peak and camp.

Just as the banner stated, it is not allowed to camp and stay overnight at the peak. All climbers must go down at exactly five in the afternoon.

Being left with no choice, campers that day just suited themselves to put up their tents at the foot of the peak and on any flat areas of the mountain. I tried enhancing the photo above so you can see the tents.

The three photos above were taken when Chem and Pabz were on their way down from the
almost-peak (yeah almost) of Mt. Linabo. Here are the photo on their way up.

The spot overlooks Dipolog City. These people taken in the picture are just some of the climbers. Some of them are disappointed for not being able to climb the peak.
And Cheem sure was one of those who were disappointed. She was curios what lies at the very peak of mountain, what's special about the tower and on what to see up there. Still though I am proud of her endurance. According to Pabz, she climbed fast as if wasn't tired.

Yet here's how she looked like. All sweaty and for sure....tired. Well, disappointed too. She wanted to climb the peak! No wonder she was eager to go with me and Cheep when I decided to climb the next day.

One Fun Night In Balai Resto Bar

I was reunited with Lyn, one of the friends I had in College. I was glad to see her again after she gave up college and run away from her home to live together with her boyfriend. She was able to escape from her kind of live in partner and joined the night out with our other friends one weekend night.
Where else could we be hanging out? Balai Resto Bar is where we like hanging out the most these days so we took her there. It was so much fun being with the craziest and the noisiest mongos Lyn (in yellow) of the Mongos Clan again. She hasn't changed.
The night out wouldn't be completed without Pabz. He's present most of my night outs for he's the only person I can trust when I get drunk.

My sister Cheem, her boyfriend and two of her friends joined us too. They bought a round of drinks and a serve of Calamares for pulutan. It was another fun night out party I had with friends.

Sparkling View of Cebu Port

Nearly arriving Cebu port, Cheep took this picture. This right here is a view of the port at early dawn. Sparking!
I thank her for taking a picture nicely using zoomed-in point and shoot. I've been to Cebu three times but I have never noticed this beautiful scenery.

Cheep zoomed in the camera a little more and there she captured the golden name of the huge building seen on the first two photos. It's the Cebu City Hall. I didn't know it before.

If I Own This Bar

...I would be drunk everyday. I couldn't imagine myself resisting these liquors if this bar happened to be situated inside my house. Could you?

I snatched this picture off my youngest sister's files. This is DMC's bar laboratory. This is where all their sessions of drink mixing take place. It's a nice bar lab eh? That's what to expect when you study in the so-called La Salle supervised school in Dipolog City. Of course, the tuition fee as well is nice to look at on the receipt but ugly in the pocket. That's why I would stay up late just to make money to help my sister out with her tuition fee.

Rain Shower Don't Go Away

How's the weather in you area? Are you getting too much rain? I am glad we only get occasional rain here in this rainy season unlike the other places in the Philippines that were flooded. It only rains here once or twice a day for about 5 to 10 minutes, just enough to water my potted orchids in the terrace and in the garden downstairs .
It rained just a while ago for about 5 minutes. It was not a heavy one like last night, just a shower. I like it when rain just showers like that without lightning and thunder that scares me because it helps me water my plants and cleans/dusts the floor in the terrace. Overall, it saves me some pesos from my water bill. It was the first pour of rain today. We will surely be getting another rain falls in the afternoon or in the evening.

Princess Fiona

It's the only name I've heard that night at the Fantasy Land. It's the name of this princess in blue gown. I didn't even hear the name of her prince. Maybe it was Shrek. Lol!
I was occupied capturing some of the rides while at the Fantasy Land that's why I've never heard the names of the prince, king and the queen. I didn't even know the names of those fantasy characters I photographed. Haist, I was overwhelmed with what I saw plus I got shivers everytime my HS friend asked me to ride with her on a roller coaster. My answer was, no.

Anyway, I got poor photographs of the stage, of the performers. Sorry about that. I was trying to take closer shots of the majesties so I zoomed in but the photos came out blurred. At least though, the colors in the photos are noticeable. I hope this post can pass the linky at Blue and Mellow Yellow Monday.

One of Those Strolls Down the Boulevard

These pictures were taken during one of those strolls my sister and I did down the boulevard. There were several changes I saw while there. I saw newly painted things that are mostly covered with yellow and blue paints. Above all, I saw how clean the boulevard during lunch time or when it is not packed with people.

I don't know what this little hut is for but I took picture of it for the Blue and Mellow Yellow Monday memes. I as well dig for green in the photo, the trees, for Green Monday

The lovely blue trash bins surely can catch everyone's fancy to remind them where the trash should go to preserve the clean surroundings.

Here's a lonely little tree and the other trees in the background for Green Monday. The yellow paint on the benches is fading but at least these benches are usable for lovers during the night. The yellow painted gate is eye-catching esp. for the kids. Much more the brightly-painted structures behind it - the children's playground.

One of Those Bar Lab Classes

These photos were taken by my sister and her friends at their school. I thought of sharing these because my sister had been missing school and her classmates. We were digging old photos of her here in my computer files when we came across these photos taken at their school’s bar laboratory during one of her drink mixing classes.

Here are the photos of my sister at their bar laboratory. I enjoyed looking at these photos and even her other photos at their lab because almost all the drinks they've mixed are familiar to me.

My sister's products: a glass of Blue Lady cocktails (I've tried this one at Palawan and was really good because it burnt my throat), a glass of gin tonic and a glass of orange juice.

Enjoying the drinks? My sister said they were just acting.

Don't be deceived by the color, although it's made with green apples, it can still strike you down. This is called Appletini, with mint fruity taste made with Vodka and Green Apple Schnapps...a strong drink, I tell you unless you'll request to lessen the Vodka.
