Famous Art Galleries in Venice

Venice is considered to be among the most complete cities in the world and the reasons for this are quite obvious and unarguable. The first one is that you will be impressed to find the most beautiful city in the world. A city free of any cars and with a highly rich nightlife that is rivaled by only a handful of other cities. However, the feather in the city’s cap is in the form of its various art and cultural places. There is no lack of Art galleries in Venice and a few prominent ones are mentioned below.

A visit to the Ca’ d’Oro is a must for anyone visiting Venice and with a distinct appreciation of art in common. Situated on the city’s Grand Canal, the d’Oro is among the most beautiful palazzos of Venice. The literal translation of Ca’ d’Oro is house of gold and the look of the place matches its name in quite a convincing manner. The palazzo is replete with decorations of shiny gilt and this makes it very pleasing to the eye. Giovanni Bon was the man who designed this piece of art but it was his son Bartolommeo Bon who completed its construction between the years of 1425 and 1434.

The Palazzo Grassi is a distinct white marble structure that stands out in the Venetian Grand Canal. Among the various Art galleries in Venice, it is the most famous around the world and especially attracts attention for its spectacular garden theatre. This theatre is capable of seating more than 600 people. Although it is more like a museum than an art gallery, it houses some of the best art works of history. Picasso, Balthus and Modigliani are just some of the artists whose work can be found at the Grassi.

Both these places are crowded by art lovers, what perhaps explains their value in the world of art and culture.
