Booking a flatshare online – The fast and easy way!

Over the years something which has made an impact on the way we travel has been the internet. The entire planning process can now be done online; booking flights, reading recommendations, assessing accommodation and so on. These have all been pretty cutting edge advancements over the past several years. Flat sharing has been the new revelation amongst the travel community, keeping costs down and bringing in a new social element to going abroad. Despite being a little pessimistic about the whole process, staying in private accommodation, I decided to take the plunge and see what all the fuss was about.


If you already haven’t found out for yourself, Paris is on the higher end of the cost-scales for most things, from a tube of toothpaste to accommodation. Unfortunately these two things are necessities when you happen to visit this lovely town but booking a short term apartment in the area of Belleville was perfect. For first time users, it is understandable to be a bit skeptical staying in private bed and breakfast or apartment, without the usual regulations of the common forms of holiday accommodation (hotel, hostel). All those thoughts can be thrown out the window once you give it a shot. Online sites, which are more like agencies in a way, have detailed information, photos and even independent reviews from past guests, so you have a good grasp of what you’re booking. It is this type of information which is hard to obtain at times from many hotels and hostel websites.

The best thing about flat-sharing is that you can choose to stay with your host or have an apartment all to yourself. Although some might stay away from living with your host, the experience can be incredibly fun. Those more adventurous might prefer having your host around beneficial as they are a foundation
