A Night at 8 Food Park

A friend who is working in Dumaguete City visited me yesterday. She'd been wanting to visit me early last week but she just made it yesterday. We also texted our other friend from our hometown but she didn't stay as she had to go back to Manukan to show up on her first day of work, which is today. So while we were left alone, we thought of just going out and have few drinks.

Since I don't like crowded places, I took my friend to 8 Food Park here in Dipolog. It is just a small videoke bar (not serving food so don't be deceived by the name) that is usually packed by people who love to sing. And singing was one of our purpose that night. So we settled in there. We ordered a grande of Red Horse beer for the two of us and then waited for the song book to pick our song. While waiting for the songbook, I looked around and noticed new changes about the place. Yes, it was not my first time there. All the tables and chairs are now made with bamboo, unlike before. I would call it a native bar as almost everything are made with bamboo and other kind of wood.

The place was okay. My friend was contented but not until we waited for almost half an hour just for the waitress to get us the song book. Yeah, the service sucks and the waitresses were very unfriendly or should I say very unfriendly only to us, their lovely lady costumers. They have a wide smile for men yet to us, women on the very front table were receiving a snob.
Back to the songbook, which we waited for like a decade. There were only a few costumers in there so we didn't think the songbook was at the other table. Besides, there is no other song inputted in the machine. We waited for another few minutes for the songbook to arrive at our table. Lastly, a guy (not a waiter but someone who knows one of the waitresses) came with a songbook. Finally! So we quickly picked our songs and then gave it to the waitress. Take note, there were no other songs inputted in the machine before we picked our songs and we were the first one who gave our list of songs to one of the waitresses in there (there were three). Later on, a song played but no, not ours but the boys' on the other table. Jezz, we waited again. After about 10 or 12 songs, we finally got a hold of the microphone.

Now brace yourself to a waitress's insecurity. After we sang all our songs, a waitress then grabbed the microphone from our table and positioned herself to perform a live concert singing one our songs. I thought it was more than a coincidence. If you want a simple videoke place and have the patience to wait for lousy waitresses, 8 Food Park is great. If you want a good and quick service from the waitresses there, be man and be flirtatious to them.

After 8 Food Park, our next stop was:
